Unacceptable errors: Grade 8
1. Homonyms

· your/you’re
· to/two/too

2. No contraction errors: “could of” is incorrect (it’s “could have”)
3. No text message or informal spelling: u, 4, gonna, etc.
4. “A lot” is two words
5. Capitalization: beginning of sentences, proper nouns
6. Punctuation: end of sentences, commas
7. No magic trick phrasing: “In my paper, I am going to tell you…” “I hope you have enjoyed my paper.”

Unacceptable errors: Grade 7
1. Use complete sentences
2. Paragraph = Several sentences, all about the same main idea
3. Capitalization: beginning of sentences, proper nouns
4. Punctuation: end of sentences
